Situation

  • A financial planning organization needed to modernize their legacy client engagement platform
  • The legacy system was a custom developed solution that had been enhanced over a 10+ year period
  • The organizations wanted to take advantage of a modern CRM system while maintaining their core value proposition to the military market
  • The CRM project had gone through multiple false-starts and deadlines agreed to with business stakeholders were approaching quickly
  • The client initially engaged the team to do a rapid assessment of the situation. The team was quickly able to devise a plan of action for meeting business deadlines, while achieving the system functionality desired
  • Once a plan was in place, a blended team of resources was assembled to execute the implementation of Dynamics CRM
  • Altruas Lead served as architect and CRM subject matter expert. In this role he led the execution of development and deployment of all aspects of the Dynamics CRM solution
  • The solutions team devised a list of “must-have” features that would be required to replace the legacy system and built this functionality over a 9-month period
  • The team took ownership of the data migration from the custom legacy system and built a complex data migration package using SQL Server Integration Services

Solution

Benefits

  • The client rolled out their CRM system to over 1,500 employees and was able to meet business stakeholder deadlines
  • All employees received in-person, hands-on classroom training from the client’s CRM business and technical experts
  • The advisor experience has been streamlined and agents are able to better manage their business
  • The final implementation provided the client with a centralized platform, which will allow for detailed reporting that was previously impossible
  • At completion, the project was labeled a success by executive management and the legacy customer management system was retired
